In order to enable all features you should activate your licensed copy of the software when first run on a new/modified hardware. You can activate your copy via Internet or obtain activation key on the activation site. You can download or update licensed copy in the personal site section.
You can try activation in Free Edition (without actual feature activating) by adding parameter demoactivation=1 to dmde.ini file and using menu command Help-Activation.
The purposes and conditions of the activation are in the license agreement. Reactivation on the same hardware is not considered as a new activation if it is caused by changing or updating OS or by reinstallation or updating software or external devices are attached. Unless assigning to a removable device is used, reactivation implies activation on a new hardware if it is caused by motherboard change, CPU change, or by BIOS update.
To activate on the same hardware you can use the keys stored in the work directory of the previously activated software copy. After support ends you can not activate the software another way.
Click Activate via Internet. If direct Internet connection is available the software will be activated automatically. Activation key will be saved to the software directory. DOS version does not support automatic activation via direct Internet connection.
If Internet activation is not possible you may obtain and enter the activation key instead.
1. Run the software on a computer where you want to activate it.
Click Activate using Activation Key/File.
Write out your Prod.ID and Inst.ID
(or save them to the file dmdeinst.dat).
2. Visit one of the activation sites
http://activate1.softdm.com/ or
http://activate2.softdm.com/
from any location. Enter your
Prod.ID, Inst.ID and registration e-mail into the corresponding
fields on the site (or upload the file dmdeinst.dat).
An activation key will be generated for you. Write out it (or save to dmdekey.txt).
3. Run again the software on a computer where you want to activate it
and enter your activation key (or open dmdekey.txt).
Professional Edition (for Windows 2K and higher and for Linux) additionally allows you to assign activation to a flash disk only and to run the software on different hardware without Internet access.
Initial Assigning Activation to a Device
1. Click Assign key to device
and select removable device to be used for activation
(if the software is already activated then use menu Help-Activation
to open activation dialog box).
2. Activate the software using any of the two instructions above
(via Internet or using key).
Assigned activation will be saved to dmde.ini
for further activations using the device.
Further Use on Different Hardware
Attach the device, start the software,
and select the device in the list.
In the menu Help-Activation you can see if the software is activated.
